Since the early 19th century, the municipality of Ixelles has been a popular neighborhood for artists and writers. In the collective memory, male names are abundant, yet it is much harder to remember the women artists who lived in this town. This tour is an invitation to revisit the history of a dozen Ixelles women who lived of their artistic talents in the 19th and 20th centuries, while questioning the mechanisms that silenced women in history and history of art.
