Alice Van Buuren, born Alice Piette, is the one who founded the museum a few decades after her husband’s death. The architect Barbara Van der Wee is specialized in restoration. She proposes a guided tour of the Van Buuren Museum, where she will talk about restoring roofs and façades, her responsibility, and the management plan devised for the long-term management of the house as an exceptional cultural venue.
Barbara Van der Wee is an architect specializing in the restoration, rehabilitation and updating of valuable 19th and 20th century historic buildings and sites, including buildings by Victor Horta. She is also known for her accurate preparatory studies, including historical studies, feasibility studies, management plans and overall restoration plans, which she develops with a view to respecting the authenticity of the works.
