Lost wax workshop with jeweller Carole De Vleeschouwer
Lost wax is a traditional jewelry technique. It can be used for simple creations as well as for sculptural projects. During this workshop, Carole de Vleeschouwer, jeweler, will explain what lost wax is, the process from wax to finished jewelry, its interest and its place in jewelry. She proposes to introduce you to this technique and to discover the material of wax, its handling, its hardness, its lightness, its complexity and its creativity. Carole De Vleeschouwer will propose a free exercise during which she will accompany each participant in his creation. These workshops do not require any special knowledge and all materials are provided. At the end of the day, each participant will have at least one finished creation. Following the workshop, Carole de Vleeschouwer will suggest that participants take their waxes to a professional caster to cast their pieces in metal.
Carole De Vleeschouwer has a multiple artistic background: she first studied at the ERG and later studied cabinet making at the Diderot Institute in Brussels. She has, among other things, worked in graphic design, restoration of antique furniture, the world of galleries for the distribution of artists.
