YOUTH ACTIVITY / Unique en son genre – Drag queens and a drag king reading children’s stories

A Drag Queen, a Drag King, a book, a child listening, and the accompanying adult. Together. How can we question gender identity and sexuality through literature, poetry, words, and colors? They don’t change their skin to bedazzle us, they are merely changing costumes. How to address these complex issues when our eyes are still full of glitter? Well, it depends.

Unique en son genre (a word play on “one of a kind” and “unique gender”) is a space of freedom; an experience open to all to let imagination and curiosity run free. People of all ages are free to express themselves as they see fit, without judgement. Together, let’s imagine a simple and playful gathering where children meet people who shake up and deconstruct gender.

This activity is reserved for children aged 3 to 8 years old as well as their supervisors.
