(EN) In the shadow of the restorers: a behind-the-scenes tour of the Africamuseum with Céline Wachsmuth
Visiting the restoration laboratory and an exhibition in the making will showcase the special relationship we have with works of art as well as the importance of a new intersectional look on them. Visiting some of the museum rooms with conservation stories will shed light on the mostly-female shadow work of conservation-restoration and how the eyes and technique of women constantly updates art.
Céline Wachsmuth is an American conservator. She is interested in feminist and decolonial issues and is currently involved in mounting an exhibition at the AfricaMuseum.
