About the event

As part of the Matrimony Days, the Cultural Outreach Department invites you to discover the “Art x Gender” project, which offers a fresh perspective on the MRBAB’s collections. The works in the permanent exhibition, alongside a specially curated display, explore gender stereotypes across the centuries. To mark the occasion, certain artists who have been overlooked in our matrimony are being brought to the fore.

This project is led by researcher Audrey Lasserre (a historian specialising in gender studies) and the head of the Cultural Outreach Department, Géraldine Barbery. Together, the research and outreach teams have worked hand in hand to offer a fresh perspective on the collections. The tours are led by Jean-Philippe Theyskens (EN), Isabel Vermote (NL) and Virginie Mamet (FR); members of the Cultural Outreach department and key contributors to the research project.

This activity takes place in English at the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium, Regency Street 3, 1000 Brussels.
