“Without reserve: #7 artists of our heritage” Guided tours at the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium

Guided tour

À propos de l'évènement

To mark the Matrimony Days and celebrate the shared heritage of women artists, the Royal Museums of Fine Arts in Brussels will be bringing out seven works from their reserves, which until now have remained confidential, even though their artistic reputation is well established. In the form of guided tours, offered in three languages (French, Dutch and English), the museum team will show the diversity of the artistic production of the women artists present in the museum collections, while highlighting their original and undeniable contribution to the art of their time and to the history that can be made of it.

The Museum's mission is not only to conserve works of art, but also to carry out research and provide information for the public. Their collections trace the history of the plastic arts - painting, sculpture and drawing - from the 15th to the 21st century. The “Gender” federal research project, led by Audrey Lasserre, is designed to encourage reflection on the issues and representations of “gender” (social sexes and sexualities) in art and the museum.
